Getting Started
What is RinkTrack?
RinkTrack is an ice time allocation platform built for amateur hockey associations. It replaces the spreadsheets and email chains that most associations use to divide purchased ice time among their teams. Import your ice inventory, assign slots to teams on a visual calendar, and send schedules to managers with one click.
Who is RinkTrack for?
RinkTrack is built for ice schedulers, administrators, and board members at minor hockey associations. Team managers also use the platform to receive their schedules via email.
How do I get started?
Sign up for a free 30-day trial at rinktrack.com. No credit card required. Import your teams, import your ice, and start scheduling in minutes. No onboarding calls or training sessions needed.
Do I need any training to use RinkTrack?
No. RinkTrack is designed for volunteers who may be new to the scheduler role. The interface is intuitive enough that anyone can pick it up without training.
Ice Scheduling
How do minor hockey associations schedule ice time for their teams?
Most associations schedule ice using spreadsheets, shared documents, or email chains. The ice scheduler (usually a volunteer) receives the association's purchased ice blocks and manually assigns them to teams across divisions and categories. RinkTrack automates this process with a visual calendar, team management, and automated schedule delivery.
What is the difference between rink management software and ice allocation software?
Rink management software is built for facilities that own ice rinks. It handles bookings, rentals, and facility operations. Ice allocation software like RinkTrack is built for hockey associations that purchase blocks of ice from facilities and need to divide that ice among their teams. Facilities don't track which teams play, whether it's a game or practice, or how to notify team managers. That's the association's job, and that's what RinkTrack does.
What is shared ice in hockey?
Shared ice is when two teams are assigned to the same ice slot. This is common for practices where younger divisions share a sheet of ice. In RinkTrack, you assign a shared event type to a slot and designate the partner team.
Can RinkTrack handle multiple facilities and rinks?
Yes. You can add unlimited facilities and rinks across all plans. Each rink has its own column on the calendar, so you can see all your ice at a glance.
What happens when the schedule changes?
When you move, reassign, or modify an ice slot, RinkTrack tracks which team managers need to be notified. You can send updated schedules with one click, and only affected managers receive the update.
